Emerald is the Pantone “Color of the Year” (which influences designers’ collections of all types as it is supposed to represent the “zeitgeist” of our society). You will see it all over the place – on clothes, bed sheets, kitchen items, everywhere.
Emerald green is the color of growth, luck (think the Emerald Isle, Ireland) and riches.
Emerald looks wonderful on people who fit into many different color seasons. It will make brown eyes look deeper and enhance green and blue eyes. I personally love all greens, with my red hair and green eyes – it is my go-to color.
1. Try an emerald-inspired necklace or even a malachite one with a simple top. Feel free to pair with matching earrings.
2. An emerald colored cocktail dress in a shiny silk is an adventurous substitute for the little black dress.
3. Find a stand-alone blouse in emerald. The color is vibrant and graphic. Just add simple gold jewelry and wear it with black.
4. If you don’t want it around your face, emerald is a perfect color to wear in a handbag or clutch.
5. Try wearing a shade of emerald on your nails. Your manicured nails will be the main attraction. There’s no need to match them to clothing pieces.
It’s interesting how many of this year’s jewelry trends are also timeless! These classic styles are great for all ages, too. The important thing is to only implement the trends that you really love.
